So you’re getting married – how wonderful!

Hi, I’m Silas. I’ve been married since 2020 and have worked as a pastor for just as long, which has given me the privilege of being part of lots of weddings in all shapes and sizes. Marriage is incredibly precious to me, so I’m thrilled you’ve decided to say ‘I do’!

Get in touch and let’s find out together whether you’d like to plan your wedding ceremony with me.

Whether you’re looking for a wedding celebrant or an officiant, it’s the same thing. As a wedding celebrant based in Konstanz, I travel all around Lake Constance – from Radolfzell, Singen and Überlingen to Friedrichshafen, Ravensburg and Lindau, and across the border to Kreuzlingen, Schaffhausen, Winterthur and Zurich. In English, in German or bilingually.

Planning your ceremony together, step by step

1

Get-to-know-you chat

Free and with no obligation – in person over a coffee, or just as easily on a video call. We’ll see whether we click.

2

Planning sessions & questionnaire

I get to know your story: how did you meet? What makes you who you are? A questionnaire and two conversations give me everything I need to write a speech that’s all about you.

3

Your one-of-a-kind ceremony

I write your speech and plan your ceremony so that both really suit you: with your story, the things that matter to you and your own rituals. You decide whether to include elements of church tradition or keep it secular.

4

The big day

I arrive in good time and coordinate with the venue and the musicians. After that, my full attention is on you and your moment.

Frequently asked questions about your ceremony

Do we have to be religious?

No. You decide how much faith has a place in your ceremony, from none at all to a great deal. That’s the whole idea of a celebrant-led ceremony: you’re free to make it your own.

Do you also lead weddings in Switzerland, for example in Thurgau?

Yes. Kreuzlingen is right next door to Konstanz, and Frauenfeld, Schaffhausen, Winterthur, St. Gallen and Zurich are all within my area. In Switzerland, too, only the civil ceremony at the register office is legally binding; the celebrant-led ceremony is your personal celebration alongside it.

Do you also lead ceremonies outside the region?

Lake Constance is my home, but I’m happy to be wherever your special moment takes place, from the shores of Lake Constance to a destination wedding abroad. We can go through the details in person.

How much does a celebrant-led wedding ceremony cost?

That depends on the scale of your celebration, which is why I don’t quote flat fees. Let’s get to know each other with no obligation, and then you’ll receive a fair, transparent quote.

How far in advance should we book?

Popular dates (May–September, Saturdays) are often taken a year in advance. But do get in touch at any time – sometimes things work out at short notice, too.

Church, celebrant-led or registry office: what’s the difference?

In Germany, only the civil ceremony at the registry office is legally binding. A celebrant-led ceremony is your own personal celebration, with no set rules. As an ordained pastor, I can also lead it in a church if you wish – the best of both worlds.

How long does a celebrant-led ceremony usually last?

As a rule, you should allow 40 to 50 minutes. That’s the perfect amount of time to give your story the space it deserves without stretching your guests’ attention. In the end, though, your running order sets the pace – we’ll shape everything around your rhythm.

What happens if you fall ill on our wedding day?

Don’t worry, you’re covered! I’m part of the celebrant agency Pastor2Go and know lots of fellow celebrants and pastors in the region, so I have a strong network behind me. In an absolute emergency, a stand-in can be arranged for your ceremony.

Can you do the ceremony in English or bilingually?

Yes, absolutely! Thanks to my time abroad, I speak fluent English. Whether you’d like a ceremony entirely in English or a smooth back-and-forth between German and English so that your international guests can follow every moment, we’ll do it exactly the way that suits you.
